Welcome to Ho Chi Minh City! I like this photo: it provides a glance into the society of a southeast Asian country, and it is clearly different than from Iowa. Here are a few notes. The woman at the bottom left was the first street peddler our group encountered. She carried an array of wallets (clutches), fans, among other inexpensive gimmicks.
            High up on the building is a Canon sign. Right before this photo was taken, there were two men on the roof of the building preparing to put the red "caps" on the otherwise shell of the brand logo. We were told to look for landmarks in case we ever became list.
