This photo displays several displays of fresh rice paper basking in the sun on bamboo racks. This particular batch of rice paper was made from white rice soaked over night, with a hint of salt, in order for it to become a mush. The softened rice is then scooped accordingly onto a hot plate and covered with a bamboo lid to be steamed. When the "paper" is ready, it is still a wet and sticky creation, therefore it must dry out to become the fragile paper we see in supermarkets. These particular rice papers were really handcrafted. They're circular because the rice mixture is spread in a circle motion to ensure the sheet is even in thickness.
