The roof top of the Palace! The helicopter featured in this photo was Ho Chi Minh's personal means of transportation if the time were ever to arise that the Palace was under attach and he needed to evacuate immediately. The helicopter was only intended for him to use (other than the pilot, and possibly a top official). In the event the Palace was bombed, the basement level contains very thick reinforced concrete walls designed to offer a degree of protection for employees.
