In many places across Vietnam, especially visible in the countryside, you will see these tombs placed in field. The people who are buried within them are the ancestors of the present family who farms the land. This land is very important to the given family, so it remains an honour for the deceased member to be buried physically in the field as a way to commemorate their hard work for establishing the land and building a future for their next generations.
