This is a forest of young rubber trees. We learned the "rubber farmers" will take a long pole that has a blade attached to it, and make spiral s-like cuts around the tree in order to cause a liquid within the tree to ooze out. This is the material used for rubber production, in essence. As you can see, many of the trees are awfully skinny. When the trees are cut on a constant basis, their natural resource production begins to lessen. Eventually, the trees will be cut down and then reseeded for a new forest of rubber trees to restart the cycle.
